sio-karnataka zone: Premier of Documentary “UNSOLVED Stories of the Unheard” was held today at IAT, Bengaluru. This documentary highlights the misuse of draconian laws like UAPA and stereotype & prejudice associated with terror cases in law enforcing agencies, judiciary & society in general, using the examples of Bengaluru conspiracy case-2012, Hubli Conspiracy case-2012, Bijapur case & many other terror cases. Appreciating the efforts of Mr. Azharuddin Pilkodan & team, Mr. Saumitra Dastidar, Renowned documentary film maker from Kolkata, West Bengal said it is need of the hour to aware people about human rights violation meted out by the system & bring the reality in public sphere. Mrs. Vidya Dinkar, Activist from Mangaluru congratulated whole team for this documentary. Mr. Muthee ur Rehman siddiqui, Journalist from Bengaluru speaking at the event said we should not only highlight the issues associated with the system but also try to find out the solution to these problems. First step should be to remove all the draconian laws like UAPA which are against the spirit of Indian constitution. Secondly, sensible media reporting & logical questioning of police version especially in terror cases is need of the hour. Also, we as society should held media accountable for their insensible coverage of these issues.
